FAQ
When you adopt an olive tree, we personally select a tree from one of our family groves in Sardinia, create its personalized wooden plaque, and place it on the tree ourselves. We then photograph and film your actual tree, fly the drone over your tree in its grove, and prepare your bespoke adoption materials. Throughout the year, you’ll receive seasonal updates so you can continue following life in the grove.
Our olive trees grow in our family groves around Villacidro, in southwestern Sardinia, Italy. Your adoption materials include information about your tree and its grove, along with geo-location coordinates so you can see exactly where your tree is growing.
Absolutely. Olive tree adoptions make meaningful gifts for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, holidays, memorials, or simply for someone who loves Italy, olive oil, nature, or Sardinia. The wooden plaque and adoption materials can be personalized with the name or names of your choice.
Each olive tree adoption lasts for one full year. During that time, your personalized plaque remains on the tree and you’ll receive the adopter benefits, seasonal grove updates, and exclusive Obìa discount included with your adoption.
Yes. At the end of each year, you’ll have the option to refresh your tree adoption for $79. Renewal includes another year with your tree, two bottles of extra virgin olive oil from our latest harvest, and updated photos and video of your tree.
Renewal is optional and never automatic.
Yes! You are always welcome to come see your olive tree in person. If you’re visiting Sardinia, contact us in advance and we’ll arrange a complimentary tour and aperitivo.
Whenever possible, we match the olive oil included with your adoption to the grove where your tree grows, but we can’t guarantee it every year. We’re a small organic family farm, and each harvest is shaped by the weather, the season, and the natural rhythm of the trees. Some years a grove gives us plenty; other years, very little. To us, that natural variation is part of what it means to be connected to a real working olive grove.
Every olive tree adoption is deeply personal. We prepare each one ourselves, from choosing your tree and making its plaque to taking the photos, filming the video, and creating your adoption materials.
Each adoption also also helps us restore abandoned groves, plant new trees, and build regenerative and sustainable olive groves while keeping traditional olive farming alive in Sardinia.
